Coming Home

I am finding my way home. Coming home to self. Coming home to the great source that connects us all. Not in the same way I was taught growing up in church, but in my own way. In a way I've come to know as truth, which is always growing and evolving.

The whispers of this truth are everywhere, always. They're painted in the beauty of the natural world, the one we were entrusted to steward and protect.

Humankind was gifted the tools-- body, heart-soul, spirit-mind, to protect this beautiful planet. One we get to enjoy, play and wonder upon, with the faith and trust we would do our part to protect it.

Is that what we're doing, collectively? Are we protecting this incredible home, this gift... the one that provides us with all we need to survive, or are we taking from it without giving back?

Are we tending to our children, the stewards of the next generation, or are we using artificial means to pacify and occupy their days until they're old enough to occupy themselves... drawing from their childhood on what to do with the time they're given?

If all we teach is how to consume... artificial intelligence, television, video games, fast food, takeout, the latest toys and fads, and are always just surviving, are we doing the job we've been entrusted to do?

If we're buying cheap, disposable items that don't last, and pollute our planet-- our children and grandchildren's future planet, how do we expect the Earth to survive and thrive... to remain a place that sustains a beautiful life?

I don't believe it can.

We are living in a time that determines the future of the Earth and all the life it sustains. Now is the moment to correct our collective behavior of consumption, of taking without giving back, and entrusting our children's future to artificial means.

We need to change and cultivate new habits, laying foundations that foster a generation of creative thinkers, good stewards of the planet, each other, community, and love for all things good and beautiful.

The time is here and now. We all must answer our own call to action today in order to ensure that there is a tomorrow for our children and beyond.
